The archipelago
chain of Turks & Caicos is South of the Bahamas
and is 575 miles South East of Miami, located in the
British West Indies. As it names suggests Turks &
Caicos is comprised of the “Turks” islands
and the “Caicos” islands. The Turks Island
Passage is a 22 mile wide channel and separates the
40 islands and cays of which only eight are inhabited.
The Queen Angel Resort is located on the island of
Providenciales (Provo) which is the most popular tourist
destination in Turks & Caicos, while Grand Turks
is the country’s government headquarters.
Flying time from Miami to Providenaciales via jet
is approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Twice daily
service from Miami, as well as daily flights arrive
from New York, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, and Atlanta.
Other direct flights arrive on a weekly or bi-weekly
basis from London, Boston, Toronto, Philadelphia,
Montego Bay and Nassau.
